The author of multiple, global, bestselling books on positive psychology, Professor Seligman also designed the most cited model of wellbeing, PERMA. His most recent book is the internationally acclaimed, Flourish and he co-authored the Values in Action (VIA) Character Strengths Survey that has become the standard for empirical and therapeutic reference in the field of positive psychology. Professor Seligman’s work on positive psychology and wellbeing has significantly influenced and contributed to fields including medicine, psychiatry, policy and political studies, economics and education, making him one of the most cited psychologists in history. Professor Seligman is a powerful advocate for education and the wellbeing of children and adolescents and is the Patron of the Positive Education Schools Association.

The evening will begin with a Question and Answer session with Martin Seligman, facilitated by Geelong Grammar School Vice Principal, Charlie Scudamore, exploring what it means to live the good life, and how we can cultivate this for our children, ourselves and our communities. This will be followed by a panel discussion on Wellbeing between Martin Seligman, Lea Waters (President of the International Positive Psychology Association and author of The Strength Switch), Chris Mackey (Psychologist), Justin Robinson (Director, Institute of Positive Education), and Rhiannon McGee (Geelong Grammar School Head of Positive Education).
